This is for you, Pops

For as long as I can remember, every time my family gets in the car for a ride lasting longer than 30 minutes, my dad puts his head back and falls asleep, resulting in his mouth opening. Tyler appears to have learned from the pro.

Dinosaur Mania

At school recently, Tyler's class did a unit on dinosaurs which has unleashed Tyler's newest obsession. He has really gotten into dinosaurs and everything he can possibly learn about them. Since there wasn't school on Friday, I decided to take the kids to The Dinosaur Park in Bastrop (www.thedinopark.com). While we were there, I had one of those moments in parenting. As Tyler is telling me about the Iguanadon, the Ankylosaurus, and many other dinosaurs, I was reminded of the movie Parenthood when Rick Moranis teaches his daughter all sorts of random age-inappropriate facts because "their brains are like sponges." I have seen Tyler do things like this before but it never ceases to amaze me. He can pronounce the dinosaur names with much more ease than Kevin or I do, not to mention all the facts he knows about each one. Here are some pictures of the kids and their encounter with the T-Rex.
