Well, it actually has been for a while now. However, I still wanted to give a final report on our summer. After much debate in the spring time, I decided not to enroll Tyler in any camps for the summer. He had a short summer school session in June, and then was free for the rest of the summer. I thought we might all tire of this lack of routine, but we all embraced it and had many fun adventures. Some of the things we accomplished/enjoyed this summer:
Discovering cool new things in our yard , like the Eyed-Elater Beetle
Tyler riding his bike (with training wheels) all over the neighborhood
Tyler learning all the mechanics of swimming and actually putting them to use
A week of fun for Tyler, Megan, and me at vacation Bible School
All of our fun vacations - South Padre, the PDC, and Montana (which I will post about later)
Megan turned 2 and is now potty trained
Our final Labor Day spent in Coleman
Imaginative games like tackle-wres that Tyler and Megan love
Megan staying in her pajamas most of the day and Tyler learning to accept it as normal for her!
All in all, we had a terrific summer spending time together as a family. I think there is always something nice about returning to a familiar routine, but I have to admit, I wasn't quite ready this year.
