After the parade, we went home for a few hours. We had lunch and then loaded up the care for our annual trip to Inks Lake. For those of you who are wondering, no, we do not camp. We just go out for the day. Some of my family's closest friends have a beautiful house on Inks. We have been spending the 4th of July there for over 20 years. We spend the afternoon lounging in the water (well, that's what we did pre-kids, now it is much more active water play), have a great bbq dinner and then are treated to a fabulous fireworks display hosted by the crazy pyros in the group - my brother being one of the leaders in this game. Tyler bought into this a few years ago, but this is the first year Megan didn't run screaming from the event. Progress is definitely being made. We had to leave before the fireworks were over since it was already late and Kevin and I were leaving the next day for Montana (which I will post about as soon as I get time). It was a day spent with some of my most favorite people doing some of my most favorite things. We were thankful to be there! It was too much fun and wet to stop to take pictures so just use your imagination for this one.

4th of July
The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. Nothing beats summer holiday fun in my eyes. This year we celebrated like we do every other year and it is a day I always look forward to. We began our day with our neighborhood parade. My parents came to join in on the fun and Clark and Meredith come to our house so we can all walk to the parade together since we live very close to the start of the parade. We had a great time watching all the floats and then following the parade to Gullett for free Amy's Ice Cream at 9:30 in the morning. What could be better than that?
