Every 4th of July, we go to our close family friends house on Inks lake for the day. After playing in the lake and eating more than we should, we end the day with a spectacular fireworks display put on by some of the men in the group. This was our first year to actually make it to the fireworks since we have had kids. Tyler loved all the fireworks. Megan liked the first one or two, then decided she wanted to leave and leave promptly. Apparently, she prefers to see the fireworks without hearing them.

Summer Fun
As usual, I am very behind on posts. So, I decided to include a number of different events in one to catch up. Our summer is flying by. We have spent lots of time with friends and family, had a fun filled week at Vacation Bible School, and participated in our neighborhood 4th of July parade just to name a few of the things keeping us occupied.
Megan and her friend Laurie Grace enjoying a snack break from playing.
Tyler and Megan loved these bubbles because they are easy to catch.
Each summer, our Sunday School class organizes a basketball tournament in memory of a former class member. Kevin always plays but this year, Tyler and his friends played in the kids division. They were the youngest by quite a bit but since they made up two teams, they did get to play each other twice. I think the parents had almost as much fun watching as the kids did playing. All the kids were very excited about their participation and look forward to playing again next year.

FYI Mom and Dad - I am done!
