A New Decade, A New Era

So it's a new year, a new decade even, so maybe I will give this blogging thing another shot. 2010 was not the year of blogging for me, but maybe (I am not making any promises) I will be better in 2011.

Why a new era you ask? It's true that this year has involved some significant changes for us. The biggest change being that both kids are now in elementary school which means they are now both involved in countless activities. Our busy-ness has multiplied this year. And whether we like it or not, they really are growing up before our very eyes. So, for the first time since we have had kids, our entire family of four stayed up until midnight to celebrate the new year! Yes, that's right our 5 and 7 year old were up until midnight (of course, I think Megan was asleep by 12:05 and Tyler by 12:08). We spent most of the evening at a kid friendly party, then came home around 11:30 to get ready for bed before the clock struck midnight. One of the amazing things about them staying up so was how well they did the next day. We were prepared for major meltdowns, but they didn't come. We were thankful and ready to tackle 2011.
