Longing for Summer

I realize people in Texas feel like summer lasts well into the fall given the never ending high temperatures. However, while it is only October, I find myself missing some of the simplicities of summer already. I appreciate a schedule and routine, but also love the freedom of summer. Summer just lends itself to simple fun at our house. I find I really miss these things when we settle into our routine of the school year. A few weeks ago though, it was very hot and the kids got back into summer mode for an afternoon. They got water bottles to spray with and Megan stripped down (I am sure the neighbors loved this) and just ran around the back yard playing with each other and spraying things for quite a while. It was one of those moments you can't create, you just have to enjoy. We definitely enjoyed it!
